The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provided grant support to municipalities and regional organizations across the country through the Sustainable Communities Initiative. In addition to funds geared toward creating more sustainable and connected regions, grantees were eligible for capacity building and technical assistance from national organizations.

This document represents a compilation of issue briefs created by the Implementation Team, led by Reconnecting America. Each issue brief accompanied a monthly webinar and allowed grantees to gain additional resources on topics such as creating regional TOD plans and strategies, infill infrastructure financing, advancing sustainability in a slow economy, and redeveloping brownfield properties. This document was created for the purpose of providing grantees with a one-stop resource for all issue briefs from Phase I Capacity Building work of Team Implementation.
